Nothing can be more bizarre (on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) than the host jumping on the stage trying to overcome his feeble attempts at the crooning act!
Perhaps, this is what makes this show such an interesting watch and keeps the viewers hooked to it.
As far as ‘History of Rap’ is concerned, I guess the moments comprising eclectic singing and performing as if Beatles have been reborn, would linger for long in one’s memory.
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has had a past that is replete with an inherent unpredictability quotient, though I must admit it does work wonders!
The bond with this talk show is so strong that we are certainly not freaked out by watching it on a routine basis; in fact the online route has just made things all the more easy for us!
But let’s go back to the proceedings of the day when Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake got down together to perform ‘History of Rap’ (or should I say Part-3 – the earlier ones being performed by the duo in 2010 followed by July, 2011).
It was the house band – ‘The Roots’ – that supported Justin and Jimmy as they poured their hearts into the singing.
Some of the numbers performed by them include DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince’s ‘Parents just don’t understand’, ‘Gansta’s Paradise’ belonging to Coolio, and not to forget, ‘Sabotage’ coming from the Beastie Boys.
Trust me…it was truly awesome for it was nothing less than a welcome break compared to the usual chit-chat.
Would it be followed by ‘History of Rap’ and subsequent editions (4, 5, 6 and so on)?
Only Mr. Fallon can answer that with conformity!
