Born to Gloria and James Thomas Fallon Sr., Jimmy Fallon is of Irish-American descent. His family moved to Saugerties, New York, when Jimmy was very young. Right from his childhood the actor had shown interest in acting. Jimmy and his sister would watch the clean portions of Saturday Night Live, taped by their parents for them and then enact the same. No body at that time would have guessed that Jimmy will host the favorite show from childhood, when he will grow up.

Jimmy went to a Roman Catholic parochial school and completed his high school from Saugerties High School. Jimmy then went ahead to attend the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, where he had opted for major in Computer Science, but then shifted to Communications. Jimmy himself has stated that “I was a Computer Science major. I got out once it got really hard. I made it up to C++. Then I couldn’t do the math- it got really confusing. I switched to Communications, which is a ridiculous major- let’s be honest”.

Jimmy started his career with working for a film called “The Scheme” in 1991. He was doing a number of small roles but gained acknowledgement only after he started appearing on Saturday Night Live. During the auditions for the show, Fallon impressed producer Lorne Michaels with his impersonations of Jerry Seinfeld, French Stewart, Pat O’Brien, Chris Rock, Gilbert Gottfried, Osama bin Laden, and Adam Sandler, and many others. Besides that he also did musical impersonations of Eddie Vedder, Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, Alanis Morissette, and Robert Smith of The Cure. As a result Fallon appeared as a featured player in the 1998-1999 season of Saturday Night Live. He left Saturday Night Live in 2004, in order to begin his career in films.

Fallon has also appeared in ‘Taxi’, ‘Anything Else’, ‘Almost Famous’, ‘Fever Pitch’ and ‘Factory Girl’. Fallon has made numerous guest appearances in a number of shows. In 2002, Fallon released a comedy album ‘The Bathroom Wall’ which was well appreciated. Most recently Fallon has been announced as the host of the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he succeeded Conan O’Brien.

Coming down to his personal life, the multi talented star was rumored to be dating Winona Ryder in 2002. In 2007 Fallon married Drew Barrymore’s producing partner Nancy Juvonen.
